Based on more than 20 years of research worldwide, the Bar-On Emotional Intelligence Quotient (EQ-i®) inventory examines an individual’s emotional and social strengths and weaknesses. Once the areas that need improvement have been identified, the client can immediately begin exploring and developing those areas. At the same time, areas where the client excels can be used to his or her full potential to maximize effectiveness in daily tasks.

A collection of manuals is available to help you administer and interpret BarOn EQ-i® results. The comprehensive Technical Manual provides detailed information about the administration, scoring, interpretation, development, norming, reliability, and the validity of the BarOn EQ-i®. The concise User’s Manual is ideal for professionals who require only essential information on administration, scoring, and interpretation.

The Administrator’s Guide provides users with step-by-step information on administration procedures, maintaining confidentiality, and obtaining informed consent. This guide is ideal for use during the administration of the BarOn EQ-i® inventory. A number of different reports are available for the BarOn EQ-i® inventory to help you interpret scores and communicate results to clients.

A 125-item EQ-i® (Short™ Development Edition) which differs in validity items is also available. The EQ-i:S™ measures emotional intelligence when a more detailed assessment is not possible or necessary. It covers the same main scales as the original EQ-i®, but doesn’t probe further to the subscale level.

Leadership Reports help you identify and groom the best leaders. They can be used in leadership assessment, leadership placement, training of leadership skills, and understanding potential derailers. Leadership Reports are online tools. However, you can administer the EQ-i with paper materials and then fax in your response sheets for scoring. You then log into our secure website to score and download the results.

Individual Summary Reports provide the overall EQ score, scores for each of the 15 areas measured, and scores for the validity indices.

Development Reports include information available in the Individual Summary Report, as well as an in-depth explanation of the meaning of each score, descriptions of individual strengths and weaknesses, and guidelines for improving a client’s weaker areas.

Resource Reports present EQ-i® scores in a graphical format conducive to development, coaching, and counseling. Intended to be shared with the client, these reports omit numerical scores in the graphical portion and use terminology such as Area for Enrichment, Effective Functioning, and Enhanced Skills.

Group Summary Reports provide a summary of results for a group of clients. They are ideal for measuring the functioning of a team as a single unit.

Individual Across Administrations Reports compare the EQ-i® results of two to four administrations on the same respondent.

Individual to Group Reports compare the EQ-i® results of an individual to those of the larger group.

Group to Group Reports compare the EQ-i® results of two groups.

Group Across Administration Reports compares the EQ-i® results for two to four administrations of the same group.
