The Mechanical Movements test is used to help measure mechanical comprehension. It helps assess the ability to visualize a mechanical system where there is internal movement or displacement of parts. Results can help identify individuals with high mechanical interest and ability. This test has been used for pre-employment selection and vocational training.

Normative Data – Percentile norms by raw score are provided in the examiner’s manual.

Validation Studies – Validation studies have been conducted on the Mechanical Movements test and are available upon request.

This assessment was originally a part of the Science Research Associates (SRA), assessment lineup, a subsidy of IBM. The ownership then changed as follows over the years and became London House, then Reid London House, then Pearson Reid London House, then Vangent, then General Dynamics IT, and finally Fifth Theory.

This, and other related assessments, went off market around 2018 and is no longer being published or available for purchase.
