About this Test
Use the Numerical Data Interpretation Test to assess numerical reasoning ability and the interpretation and manipulation numerical data encountered in the workplace. Before you invest the time and money to train a new employee, test your applicants for skills like:
- draw logical conclusions and correct inferences from numerical data;
- calculate values using basic arithmetic operators;
- work with percentages
This test provides the answers you need to make informed hiring and promotion decisions.

The NDIT™ Numerical Data Interpretation Test (U.S. English) assesses numerical reasoning ability, related to the interpretation and manipulation of the types of numerical data routinely encountered in the workplace.
NDIT™ specifically measures the ability to:
- correctly analyze and interpret numerical information presented in surveys, reports, charts, and graphs;
- draw logical conclusions and correct inferences from numerical data;
- calculate values using basic arithmetic operators;
- work with percentages; and
- identify when additional data is required to draw conclusions.
The abilities assessed are relevant in any role that involves reasoning with and interpreting numerical data. Numerical reasoning is used frequently in important job tasks in many work settings including executive, managerial, supervisory, professional, sales, administrative, and technical roles across most industry sectors.
Numerical reasoning ability differs from mathematical ability, which reflects the ability to learn, retain, and apply mathematical formulas. It is possible for an individual to obtain different score levels in a math test and in an assessment of numerical reasoning ability.
The Numerical Data Interpretation Test may be administered in an unproctored setting.
NDIT Profile Report
The report provides the candidate’s norm-based percentile score, as well as T-score, STANINE, and STEN score. This is supplemented with a brief narrative report.
Three norm groups are available in the United States:
- Professionals/Individual Contributors
- Working Adults in the U.S.
- Financial Roles (Global)
