The Shorthand test is a three-minute timed test that measures a candidate’s ability to write down information while listening to an audio recording, and then to type the written information into a word processing program using a keyboard. Candidates are able to pause, rewind, fast forward, and stop the audio player. When the three-minute period is up, candidates are asked to transcribe the information they heard from the audio player into a word processing document. Candidates have unlimited time to type in the information.
