Purpose: Your Construction Manager needs great managerial skills, an ability to designate and motivate, and act in a reliable, level-headed manner to meet obligations. Use this pre-employment personality and aptitude test to hire construction managers who work hard and have a strong desire to interface with customers.
In addition, the Construction Manager/Superintendent Test test determines if the candidate has the mental capacity to deal with challenging problems as well as relate well to other managers and executives in the company. Also, included in the aptitude component are tests of basic reasoning, mechanical reasoning, and 3-D reasoning that indicate an ability to make solid technical decisions.
About the Test The Construction Manager test is untimed but should take about 2 hours to complete. This test battery has five parts:
- 20-minute mechanical reasoning test
- 7-minute 3-D reasoning test
- 153-question untimed personality inventory
- 44 item untimed test of mental ability (equally divided among verbal, numerical, and abstract reasoning questions)
- 35 open-ended statements to which the candidate must type in short answers
What the Report Gives You: A graphical display of scores of areas covered (see chart), explanation of aptitude results, list of strengths and developmental concerns, display of the narrative comments given to the open-ended statements, and suggested interview questions.
Testing Process: Online personality testing provides immediate reporting. Proctoring is desirable but not required.
