The Employee Dependability Profile is a pre-employment screening questionnaire designed to predict the likelihood that a job applicant will be a dependable, reliable and stable employee. The EDP provides valuable information about job applicants that can be used in connection with interviews and Background Checks to help you make successful hiring decisions. The results from the EDP are easy to understand and provide consistent, job-related information that meets federal anti-discrimination guidelines.

• Designed for all hourly and managerial positions
• Excellent for evaluating and ranking the entire pool of applicants

How well employees perform on the job is always a complex combination of job knowledge, motivation, and personal attributes. These attributes include work values and habits. Employers are looking for quality employees who have good work habits – those who are reliable and can be trusted, those who think work is important and are committed to doing their best, and those who show initiative and are willing to do more than they are asked. We define this as dependability.

Using the Employee Dependability Profile is very straightforward and requires just three easy steps:

• Qualified applicants complete the EDP online or offline using an EDP booklet
• The hiring manager scores the EDP online or over the phone with a live person
• Within minutes, the hiring manager can review and compare the results, and use them in connection with other hiring criteria to make an informed hiring decision

The Employee Dependability Profile is based on the assumption that past performance is the best predictor of future performance. Consequently, the EDP contains questions asking applicants to describe their past behavior and what they think is appropriate behavior. The subscale scores included within the EDP include measures of scholastic performance, dependability, moral reasoning, initiative, work values, attitudes toward drug usage, and social desirability. These scores are combined to form a percentile score that ranges from 0 to 100. Applicants with higher scores are more likely to be outstanding employees.

The EDP normally requires 25 to 30 minutes to complete. It is easily understood, and is usually completed after the applicant has completed the application form and an initial interview. The Employee Dependability Profile provides valid, accurate and reliable data which meets the guidelines of the EEOC / ADA in the United States and Canadian Human Rights legislation in Canada.
